SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Small images in .sigs?

I completely understand if Pundit and the rest of the mods don't want this, but if it's just a case of a feature that hasn't been turned on can it be?  Just little things like a 120x80px image or something?

I mean, I could see why not - it'd be a space for people to advertise but they can already do that with text, yeah?

Anyway, just curious.

One of my biggest reasons for liking this site is because, on the whole, the signatures are not bigger and more annoying than the posts.

I object to any measure that would lead us down that dark path, that would forever dominate therpgsite's destiny...

One Horse Town

Personally, i don't like it, but i'll flag this up to Pundit and Brett.

At the end of the day, if you want to post a small image, you've got your avatar space.

Okay.  It's not a huge deal, less of a "hey we need this" and more of a pondering.

The consensus seems to be no.

The Traveller

I would agree. If the only way the costs of running the site are ameliorated are via the ads at the top, it seems a bit self defeating to allow people to run the same ads much more prominently in their sigs.

If on the other hand you were to charge a fee for images in sigs, a more expensive one than the top ads, that would be a good idea. :D
