Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Kyle AaronOkay, having a look at his posting history, we see that
  • of his last 25 posts, only 1 was directly about rpgs ("random car chase events"; but some, as in the Mark Plemmons thread, are marginal)
  • in the 25 before that, 7 were directly about rpgs
  • in the 25 before that, 3 were
  • in the 25 before that, 4 were
And so on. Overall, he has only one post directly and obviously about rpgs for ever 6 or 7 not. And of those 6 or 7, about 3 are abusing RPGPundit or other posters. That's a rather poor signal to noise ratio. A check of my posts, by the way, gives us about a 50:50 ratio (I don't include rpg theory and dissing Forger games), which I'm embarassed by, I must improve that.

Anyway, three dissing people posts and three non-rpg talk posts for every one rpg post, not too awesome. In a game session of four hours that'd be only 35 minutes of gaming talk, only a bit better than Ryan Dancey's rpg sessions which he says are "twenty minutes of fun packed into four hours."

So basically walkerp's just here to be a fuckstick.

Rightyo, now that we've settled that question...

What's my ratio like?  Is it easy to work out?

Kyle Aaron

Balbinus has about 95% rpg-related posts.

I just click on the person's name, a little menu pops up, "find more posts by X". Then they all come up in lots of 25. Basically, if it's a post in the roleplaying subforums it counts as directly-related to roleplaying. Sure, sometimes we'll discuss rpg stuff in Off Topic, and other times we'll say something non-rpg-related in the roleplaying ones - John Morrow, for example, loves to bring up politics in every thread he can. But that stuff usually balances out, so that the person's posts in the subforums to do with roleplaying tell us their overall ratio.

For example, looking at Balbinus, at this moment, of his last 25 posts, all but one were to "Role-Playing Games" subforum, and the one out was Help Desk. The 25 before that, it's 2 to Help Desk and 1 to RPGs. The 25 before that, it's 2 to Electronic Games, and 2 to Off Topic. Here we also see the balance. While Balbinus posted to "Forge Games - Having it Both Ways", which desipte being in the rpg forum wasn't really about rpgs, was really just a forum bitchfight, he also posted to an Off Topic one where some Italian gamer popped up asking if anyone here was European or spoke Italian - and I reckon gamers hooking up with people in that way, that's directly rpg-related - you can't game if you can't speak to people in a language you know well.

Walkerp, what are you trying to achieve here?

I prefer the free nature of the discussion here and I don't see how reporting of "swinish trolling" helps it in anyway. If Ron Edwards would come here, I would welcome it as an opportunity to present him with very hard questions.

What I do not prefer is cheap "flame for flame itself" such as the one you seem to try create here. If you have something to say, do so. If you are just frustrated, exercise reallly relief from stress.

You should have kept reading.

He's getting revenge (:hissyfit:). I'm guessing on Pundit, or maybe all of us.

Alnag, I'm in school and working full-time right now, so I have had to forego my normal physical jerks this year.  Unfortunately, for me, even when I am in top performance shape, my tolerance for assholes and hypocrisy is quite low.  However, I do agree with your advice in general.

I too appreciate the free nature of discussion. I just realized a bit too late that it's only free as long as you share the opinions of the majority.  So I thought I'd just better get in the parade as soon as possible so that I can post without getting shouted down by the cool guys.

Also, I'm totally against neck-raping cabin boys. That's wrong. I just wanted to underline that in case I hadn't made it clear before.

No you hadn't made THAT clear.

If anything you were so confused in those original threads that you appeared to defending it at times.

You and I agree on that much ...even though I often think that you're full of shit.

Wait a minute, you are changing your stance now? After you spent so much time and energy going off on the "moral repugnace" of judging someone else's play?

How about your comment that you are only here for revenge? Are you denying that one as well?
"Meh."

Of course I've changed my stance.  That was back in the days before I saw the light and realized the use of supposed x-rated and "extreme" subjects in gaming was simply one more Swine ploy to grab attention.  I see now that in order to defend traditional gaming values, you also have to defend traditional family values. The two go hand-in-hand.

Also, let me make it clear that I now also believe that any representation of neck-raping cabin boys (that's the players neck-raping cabin boys, not cabin boys who indulge in neck raping; the term can get tricky) is as immoral and reprehensible as someone who does it in real life.  I banish those sick freaks from my gaming table!  Banish them!

If you weren't the cream of wheat of satire here, walkerp, someone might get offended.

As it is, you're just kinda throwing a tantrum like a 14 year-old. Knock it off and go mow the lawn.

Meh, walkerp is just the milquetoast incarnation of Cap'n Ahab still trying to get revenge against, whoever.

I can hear his prepubescant cries from the quarterdeck now, "I'll get ye' White Forum! Mark my words!" *sob*
