This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The crazy comment was my own personal comment on your recent postings about men's rights. But closing the thread was because it was a thread about feminism (had library lass opened one I would have closed that too).

And you've yet to clarify what exactly you found crazy about it. All I did was link to fact after fact after fact, because someone called me an asshole, presumably for not knowing the facts.

But dude. I don't want to break your illusions, but you do come off as a crazy lunatic when you post huge walls of text rantings with tons of embedded links like you've been hoarding this stuff preciously waiting to explode at some feminist's face, on the RPG Site of all places! And that's not even talking about the position itself that puts all feminists in the same bag. You do come off as a nutcase when you do that.

Walls of text are an unfortunate neccessity when breaking new ground for people unused to dealing with such things. I'm well aware that a lot of people might find the facts offensive despite them being bald facts, so I made sure it was covered every which way. This is all seconds away on Google, belieb it or not.

I think you need to chill, pick up a game or something, and if the Pundit is interested in your thread, he'll reopen it.

I have found your obsession with men's rights over the last few months nutty. Beyond that I told you , not going to get into a discussion about feminism with you here.

The Traveller

Fine, I'm still unhappy but I'll abide. I don't believe that feminism has anything useful to offer today, and I do believe that men are at a significant disadvantage in many respects. Should facts arise to indicate otherwise I'll change my opinion accordingly. That's my piece and I've said it.

Oh and I'll be sure and watch my swaggering around you. Wouldn't want to reinforce any stereotypes.

I am not racist against Irish people. I don't know where you are getting this. I am from boston, I am named after an Irish Saint and my grandmother was 100% Irish.

By the way, is this the quote you were thinking of, when I was trying to showery if heritage doesn't automatically link to mythic interests:

QuoteInterest in myth has nothing to do with skin color. My background is Irish, Jewish and Italian. I have zero interest in Irish lore and know more about Arabian legends and the Koran than I do the Torah. I like Roman myths just fine, but also like mythology from places like Thailand and Australia (the latter because my father had an interest in Austalian Aboriginal culture).

Oh I dunno, accusations of being drunk for swaggering maybe. The crazy for posting up facts thing was just the icing on the cake after that.

As I said, whatever. I've never been terribly impressed with your comments and this latest episode hasn't endeared me any. So stop bothering me. Thanks. As far as I'm concerned we can leave it there.

Jesus. Brendan had no idea you were Irish in the first place.

And he's Irish. With a Boston accent. :D

That's the kind of ramblings that make you sound crazy drunk, Traveller.

RPGPundit

Ok, look, here's the deal: Traveller, you quite CORRECTLY pointed out that the thread on the biased editing of wikipedia (in the main rpg forum) was NOT the place to have a discussion about feminism. Great.

You also invited Library Lass to argue about it with you on the Pundit's forum, making it clear that you were not just trying to avoid the issue or shut her down as a means of avoiding the subject. That's fine too.

But then when she didn't immediately bite you went and decided to post your own thread on my forum on the subject, I didn't think that was really necessary.

So this is what we're doing to do; how about we stick to your original suggestion. IF Library Lass decides that she wants to have a debate with you (or a discussion, chat, whatever) on the subject of feminism, she is welcome to start a thread on that subject on my sub-forum.

If she doesn't, my forum doesn't need a one-man manifesto, particularly if that man isn't named "the RPGPundit".

So let's leave it to her to decide; if she's not really interested, there's no event or need for a thread.
