Make it a contest.

Whichever one posts to the thread first gets to be the only one of the two to post in that thread. In case of a tie, allow a poll vote to decide which one gets to post in the thread.

Just go back to the way things were about a year ago -before talk about the American election caused the politics sub-forum to be created.

Also, go back to making Off-Topic viewable when someone is not logged in.  When I menyioned this before , I forgot that there are threads about "geek" stuff like movies and TV shows that might bne nice to view quickly when not on one's home computer.
 Its only recently with the damn sub-forum silliness that people think its just politics in that area of the forum.

For that matter, back in December my thread asking for suggestions of good charities was meant to be as non-political as possible.  Thats the kind of thread that a person might like to browse quickly to check on new postings.

Because, I voted for restoring things to the way they were last year. (or around that time). Political discussion can still happen in Off-Topic, but it no longer has its own sub-fortum.

Prefer to think the special sub-forum was only created as a reaction to this past year's election.

Utter nonsense. Just like this thread demonstrates, he'll be in a pissing contest with whomever. Or this thread where he is pissing away with another.

I doubt the issue is either of us posting. It's OHT's hard on for us. When he sees our posts on the same page it's like Viagra and he just want to fuck something.

A month ago I would have agreed, but ever since I put CavScout on mental ignore I think things have calmed down a lot between us.  The occasional snark perhaps, but I refuse to get into the tit-for-tat nonsense.  Thus in the Israel thread when he just went right off the rails into talking about my "transparent antisemitism."  So I just agreed, heil hitler, and I was done.

There wasn't going to be any more, because everyone else was right, life is more pleasant when you just don't play the cocksucker's game.

Back on November 5th I started a thread that suggested the same thing as option 1 of this poll...take a look:

You know, this is about all I need to see to tip me over the edge.  I can put CavScout on my Ignore list and get by just fine, but the fact that this cheese-dick's counter-factual denialism continues to be entertained here puts me squarely in line with David R -- I don't want my name and reputation associated with crap like this.

I took a break for a couple of weeks back because most of the people I enjoy at this site have dropped off in recent months.  I don't know if it's a coincidence that it's corresponded with the arrival of CavScout (and, though I've been able to put up with him, Jackalope, too) but it's enough for me.  Have fun providing him a playground to people who are here just to be dicks.

 I'll miss reading your comments.  Even when I disagreed with you I liked to see that you were posting.

My posting hasn't been much lately for various reasons - probably the recent blues that I mentioned in that now closed thread. Also, I'm kind of in mourning that my long-term campaign might not have any more sessions...and just playing D&D isn't as much fun for me.

Put me also in the camp where 2 or 3 posters have lessened my interest in posting anything.

David R.'s contributions were fun to read as well.

Of course... it's not the holidays or end of year that pulled people to other things... no, no way it would be that.

UM ...NO.

 Its more the other way around. Some of us actually like discussions on here or used to in the past.

 Recent events in posting patterns have made discussions on the forums not so fun any more.

It could be as simple as that.

Some of us might have wanted to have a fun conversation on here to take oour mnds off  of other things - but found no value in thread conversations that kept going in to dead end circles.
