This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Well, if we did that, I would judge it, I suppose. The charts could also end up seeing print in the eventually-published "Forward... to Adventure! Gamemaster's Notebook" (a.k.a. "FtA!GN").

Of course, if it was going to be for FtA! the rules would require that ALL tables be devisable on D6 rolls only.

For the prizes, I would guess "equivalent Flying Mice PDF"; since the idea would be most of the winners would already have FtA! at least on PDF.  The print copy is still a good prize. On top of that, the winners plus possibly other contestants might end up seeing their name in the credits of the FtA!GN sourcebook when it is released.

RPGPundit

PS: I know a lot of people don't exactly think of me as "Impartial", but dude, we're talking about me in the role of Game Designer here, judging the creation of Random Tables for an Old School RPG.  I don't care if Ron Fucking Edwards himself wrote the best Random Monster Weakness Chart I ever saw, as long as its the best, and its something good and old school (extra points if it emulates Nethack!), then I'd give the man the prize.

Dude, cash money always sells.

So would we have two sticky threads in the main forum, both to draw folks in and to keep it all neat?  I thought one could be submissions only, one could be commentary.  Sound ok?

And should we perhaps tell jrients and doc rot they're being requested? :D

Sounds good; again, you'll be in charge of organization and publicity, right Zach?

I agree with appealing to the Dragonsfooter and EN-guys, since the old schoolers there might certainly be drawn to FtA!

Yeah, I'll organize everything, but for a public face, I don't know.  ENnies-wise, it does not look good to have a judge associated with pimping a particular game.  What do you guys think? I think its a great idea, but I don't want to do anything to call anything else into question.

You have no association with the game, you're pimping for the website. There's nothing against that, is there?

Hell, you won't even be a judge... just theRPGsite's PR guy.

Zach,
As your friend, I seriously advise you to discuss this with Denise and get her blessing. It may have started as promoting theRPGSite but it is most definitely become pimping FTA. If FTA is a nominee in the Ennies you need to distance yourself from it in order to appear neutral. Right now, you are "Hey, Look at this game and enter a contest that you need to purchase a copy of it for...oh, and sign up for the site" not "The RPGSite is cool, sign up now!". A subtle but important difference.

Just my opinion though.

Yeah, I'll discuss it beforehand. I want to help out on theRPGsite, but can't be seen to be associated with any "one" game.  If nothing else, it might mean I might be able to direct one of our other folks on what to do, and let them take it from there. I just really, really don't want to mess anything up, so if this'll keep for a just a few, let me get an answer back, OR, I'll help set up publicity for the site, suggest course of action/where to post, but hold off from there.  Better safe than sorry...

Yeah, I looked over the restrictions for judges and whatnot.  This is definitely a no-no.  So, the question is, I'll happily generically point someone to where I'd do things and advise, but I can't be the public face or the one to post the announcement. Someone want to step up for my lame ENnies Judge ass?

As I read it, no.  Any sort of publisher relationship like that, submitting or no, is not considered proper.

(I hope you might consider at least going to the ceremony next year.  It'd be fun to hang out and meet some cool hobby people!)

Now I think that is a bit excessive... You don't have to be Ceasar's wife! Anyway, if I am there, I will be happy to go to the awards with you.

You'll probably have to move it to the main forum . This place doesn't get a  lot of traffic, and tihe title is misleading.
