RPG Pundit a.k.a. Nisarg has made a long and storied carreer of criticizing other board's moderators and moderation styles. I read his thread bemoaning the impending closure of the site and the cries of his proxies about wanting him to lead a forum.  I say William Gruff himself say that if it where up to him he'd transfer the site over to Pundit.

And you know, why not?  So Pundit - willing to put your nuts where your mouth is? I'll turn the site over to you with no strings attached whatsoever.  I'll even transfer the domain 'therpgsite.com' into your custody. What say you?

Actually, there is one catch. Should you accept I will be purging the moderator forum posts to protect the privacy of the discussions taken place there - and changing the passwords on the site you will need to use as some of them match other sites I admin.

As I mentioned in my Blog, I have neither the capcity of time or of technical knowhow to run(admin) a site. However, I'd be more than happy to be part of a team of like-minded individuals, including being the principle creative head, of a project to take over the RPG-site and re-tool it to become THE definitive site for fans of mainstream gaming.

So, again as mentioned in my blog, what I would in fact like is for you to transfer all control of the RPGsite, permanently and with no strings attached (other than the couple you mentioned above) to William Gruff. If you are willing to do that, and he's willing to accept and help out (a long with a couple of other people who I'll be asking soon) in the running of the site, then we have a deal.

Technical capacity isn't the problem.  I can do that much - though currently it means I'll only be dropping by once a month or so.  It's being an active member and leading discussion and shaping the forum. Keeping the code well behaved is the easy part (for me at least). As I responded on the blog - if he's willing to take custody of the keys to the domain name I have no problem with it. And he already has admin access, so he can take care of all the details for you.

Of course, tons of people would love to see Pundit's boards fail miserably. On the other hand, those same people will be forced to a sort of grudging respect of him and his philosophies if he actually pulls it off.

We will? Where the fuck are you from?

Name Lips: had you read my blog entry, you might have cued into the fact that one thing I would NOT do is make an "anti-" site.  That's not the point. This place tried to be the Nutkin's "anti-enworld" site, and when the ENworlders ignored them, they all got bored with it.
Other places have been "anti-rpgnet" or "anti-forge".  If I will be "anti" it will be in the sense of "Opposite", not "against".  I want this place to be THE forum for Mainstream Gaming. In other words, the forum for the majority of gamers who believe in traditional and orthodox gaming as opposed to white-wolf-swinery or forge-mental-diarrea.  Its a place where those gamers will be catered to.
So it should become a place where a guy who has never heard of ENworld, or RPG.net, or the Forge, could come into and get into because it will be his kind of gaming forum.
