This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

This is the most childish post I've read in the last two years.
If there can\'t be a TPK against the will of the players it\'s not an RPG.- Pierce Inverarity

Well, okay, so I didn't get it. My embarassement shall be enough for punishment.
So mine was the most un-informed post in a while. Care to provide a link to whom you are mocking?

EDIT: So you already deleted all your posts? THIS IS the MOST childish behaviour that I've seen in a long, long time. If that´s a "joke", I'm to dumb to get it.

Quote from: RPGPunditI want this place to be THE forum for Mainstream Gaming. In other words, the forum for the majority of gamers who believe in traditional and orthodox gaming as opposed to white-wolf-swinery or forge-mental-diarrea.  Its a place where those gamers will be catered to.

What if "traditional" gaming isn't the mainstream anymore?

Besides can't it just be a place for gamers, be they swine or crabs, be they powergamers, simulationalist, or even method actors, if they have a love for metaplots or metagaming, if they like their levers to be trapped or not (current ENWorld reference).

If you say phrases like "opposed to...." how are you not going to be anti-...?

Personally I'ld like this place to succeed, I like the format (other than the background), the features like the blogs, and when folks were posting I like the topics of conversation, and I don't really care who is in charge as long as they opperate a light hand as moderator.

Mr. Christopher

I'm a fucking idiot so if someone can explain Harry's joke to me, I'll be much obliged.
Why are there so many songs about rainbows and what\'s on the other side? Rainbows are visions, but only illusions, and rainbows have nothing to hide.

Bagpuss

Me to, although any joke that needs to be explained usually gets filed into my unfunny category.

@kanegrundar: Jokes like these seem to have been the deathknell for Nutkinland. Still, I see no joke in threatening to delete all posts, and then ACTUALLY deleting them. Har.Har.

It is. By definition, as long as D&D is 70% of what all gamers play exclusively, mainstream gaming is traditional gaming. Anyone who tries to claim otherwise is deluding themselves.

I will obviously want such a place to succeed if I take it over too. And if I am the one in charge, then one thing I can certainly guarantee is a VERY light hand as moderator.

No.  The damn deathknell was assbergers that take goddamn games too seriously flooding the boards.  Sucked the fucking fun out of talking about them.

I wouldn't worry too much about it guys.  Ignore his whining.

If he wants to erase all his own messages, he's more then welcome to. Fuck, he can replace every single message he wrote here with "I loathe RPGPundit" if he wants to.
But what is not going to happen is the erasing of everyone's previous posts, when most people won't give a shit, and when a few people would be actively pissed off were that to happen (least of all me and Levi if our "Pistols at Dawn" thread was erased, and the people who are interested in continuing to promote the RPGsite under new management).

So if he's really SOOO upset about even having his words associated with me in this most vague of ways, then he and anyone else with that sentiment is welcome to go back and erase their messages to this forum themselves.

There are many different styles of playing and DMing D&D, it can be enjoyed by both crabs and swine (just probably best if they aren't sat at the same table). Look at the trapped lever thread on ENWorld for example.

What do you mean by traditional?

Quote from: BagpussWhat do you mean by traditional?

You know, search for traps, disarm traps, kick open door, fireball room, then hack up whatever still crawls around. Traditional, you know.

RPGPundit

By traditional I simply mean  mainstream RPGs that follow the traditional format, including the DM and Player type construct, with the DM having a certain level of power.

Furthermore, its relatively easy to identify those that DON'T fall into this "traditional" format because they are usually all too happy to describe themselves as outside the mainstream, since that's their supposed selling point.

But D&D, Call of Cthulhu, GURPS, Shadowrun, Champions, Traveller, Runequest, Warhammer, etc. etc. all would fall under the "traditional mainstream" descriptor.

Furthermore, this will be a place for people who think of RPGs as a hobby, rather than a "way of life" or an "art" or what-have-you, and for people who do not take RPGs too seriously without feeling the need to turn the site itself into a joke.

Well, this is an interesting development.

I'd fallen out of checking this site for awhile, but I might have to rekindle my interest in it.

The goat's good people. I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
