Well, I just say, I disagree...but I would be willing to discuss it and I think you would listen. That is the best praise I can give.

As to the poll, I have not responded (voted in the poll) because it is meaningless. You will not be in control in 12 hours. The only result (not your intention) of the poll would be to segregate those who "are here to destroy the site" and those who "want to be part of the polis". Personally, I do not believe those can be determined in that manner.

As i'm in dual charge today - there's a difference between irreverent and irrelevant. IMO, you're the former (and amusing to boot).

Let's assume that Bill is right, and my strong stance on things would make there be a far larger Pundit-hater squad than a OHT-hater squad.
But is Bill suggesting that OHT wouldn't take a strong stance on things? He wouldn't defend Regular RPGs? He would allow Forge-theory to insinuate its way into threads or people to disrupt the site with personal vendettas?

But let's be kind to Bill for a moment, and assume that's NOT what he's saying. Let's figure he's saying OHT would take a strong position on these things, and just not be as controversial a figure as me.
How long till he develops his own OHT-hating crowd? You ban ANYONE, anyone, under any circumstances and you'll have at least three or four posters claiming you're at the very least on your way to becoming Hitler.

Stop people from derailing threads with theory talk, and you'll have people claiming you're committing censorship. Don't stop it, and you'll have other people complaining that the site is losing its focus and that you're letting a tiny minority get away with dominating the site.

Kyle will attack you no matter what you do, unless you do absolutely everything he says, because he wants to be in charge.
Settembrini will expect you to allow free speech to child rape advocates.
Gleichman will claim that he's leaving... though really no one even cares about that one.

And God help you if you point out that Bill's "roman" RPG has a title that makes no sense and is full of extreme culturo-historical implausibilities.

Then there'll be guys like James McMurray who'll go after you because they have an immense inferiority complex and feel the need to go "take down" the guy with the biggest cyber-dick to prove they're not gay, or something. You'll get one of those every few months at least.

Finally, the absolute fucking nutcases and trolls: guys like Nox, who's deal is not about who's in charge, its just to do their thing, and their thing wreaks havoc in the site. But remember, do something about it and half the site will claim you've lost your way. Don't do something, and half the site will leave because the place has gone to shit.

So really, the question isn't "would you want the same hassle as the Pundit", its "would you want even HALF the hassle the Pundit deals with every day?"
