I think he did it on his own.  As a show of support since right now we are considered part of the larger NTL community.  :D

Yeah, isn't that the problem NTL always has? Somebody takes it upon themselves to carry the gospel to the masses, and nobody ever makes the connection that nobody asked them to.

I look at it this way.  The ENWorlders that are stirring up shit in that thread are the type that we don't want here anyways.  Its staying up in the forum and hopefully some will click through to here and actually register.  And at this point the thread is more about Russ's reaction to the initial thread on ENWorld than the site itself.

Yeah, sounds about right. I just have to laugh at Bullitt getting all pissy. He already negrepped me for it, and he can negrep me again for all I care.

yeah, pretty sure no one asked him to do that.  i personally would have been fine if there was never an open invitiation posted on enworld.  that can draw people we don't want here, like flies to shit.

the strength of a messageboard is not in the number of posters, but in the quality of posters.  :)

now, sure, there are some folks that we might enjoy having over here, but i would much rather invite them one at a time (like in ye olde nutkinland days, so i'm told) than open the floodgates and say "come on in, y'all!"

besides, i was told fairly specifically that we don't want to create any unnecessary drama with enworld.  that thread seems to have done exactly that, though with the involvment of a third-party forum making some folks think that we were being antagonists.
