SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Issue and a couple of suggestions

In particularly long threads, say at page 68, the next page link shows [69], but when I click on it I get redirected to the top of page 68 again. This only happens when the maximum number of posts per page is reached (every 10). When someone posts another post, I can then reach page 69.

In most other vbulletin installs I get a preview of the text of the thread when I mouseover, via a title tag I assume. For some reason I miss this.

Finally, the joint is really picking up, maybe extend the number of threads visible by default on most forums to double or triple their current amounts? Stuff is falling off the frontpage too fast for me to keep up. Plus it makes forums look bigger.

The missing page is usually due to a spammer being silenced, but the thread page count is still calculated with his posts.

As far as the preview goes, we have deactivated it to keep the site running at a quick pace. You'll notice it runs a lot faster than rpg.net.

Finally, which front page are you talking about? Do you mean where the ads/reviews are?

No, this happens every time, but only on (much) longer threads. Short threads are fine. I'm using FireFox 13.0.1.

Heh, sorry, this is my mental frontpage

It would be nice to be able to see at a glance where new posts have been made but overwhlemed by other posts or just add thoughts to threads that have dropped to page 2. I nearly missed the latest edition of 101 modern horrors today, so maybe extend the page a bit? If you get what I mean.

I'm not sure about the missing pages, but I increased the number of threads displayed.

The Traveller

Yes! Perfection. The redirect to the same page isn't a huge issue, I just need to wait until someone else posts, I've vague memories of it happening elsewhere too, but its no big deal.

Thanks!
