This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Is Cessna Really Cessna?

Why the hell are you beating on someone for breaking rules on a low rules/low moderation site?

Oh hold on, you're that Dominus Nox boke aren't you.  The twat.  Sorry mate, I thought you were a poster of merit, not some fat, mouthbreathing, socially inept, anal retentive no-mark from the depths of his parents basement.

Carry on as you are - it's not like any of us could ever stop you.

I for one, welcome our former big purple overlord :D

The next quesion is - is Dominus Nox really Dominus Nox or a sockpuppet created to make the real one look like a total jackass? :p

I've thought that Pundit and Nox were Wick and Sorenson for some time.  Its almost certainly not the case, but it should be true, dammit!

Shut up you horrifically obese troll of a subhuman waste. If Cessna swept TBP clear of anyone who's disagreed with mod policy in the history of the site in one fell swoop I'd still rather wipe his ass than put you out if you were on fire.

If you can't let the nearly worthwhile person who posts in the RPG forums under your name post in these sections, could you at least manage to not rub your numerous petty hate-boners all over every thread that's bordering on interesting?

Man, your utter lack of character is so utterly complete, it's almost like..... character.

BTW, did you see how pundy mocked you for banning yourself? For once his poison pen actually hit a worthy target.

Son, there's this technique you can try that will ease so many of your tensions and frustrations. It's called, "masturbation".

It would have depended on the circumstances.  Banned? No. Not unless he suddenly started to make all kinds of posts meant as personal attacks or obviously made to cast the "real" Cessna in a bad light.

However, if he was a sockpuppet, he would not have been allowed to keep the account. For obvious practical reasons sockpuppeting is as forbidden here as it is everywhere else.

Finally, if it wasn't rpg.net's Cessna but it wasn't a blatant troll or sockpuppet, well, then I'd have strongly encouraged said person to change their name anyways on account of the confusion it would generate.

I was pretty sure that it had to be the real Cessna, or a sockpuppet, though.

So... why is Sockpuppeting obviously bad?

I get using it to get around banning is 'bad' and using it to get away with bad stuff is 'bad'. but just doing it? Like if I had two user names I'd be an evil person or something?

Don't understand. This intarweb is confusing to me sometimes....

On tbp it only seems bad because it is generally used to get round a ban or somesuch.

Here I figure it's because it skews member figures and goes against the principles of the site.

By that I imagine that Pundit wants a site where you have the freedom to type what you wish as long as you are held personally accountable for what you type and don't try to hide behind a fake persona (fake being as in different to your usual handle, whilst pretending you're two seperate individuals).

I could be wrong but its one of the things I really like about the place.

Perhaps the question should be: why would you want two (or more) usernames?

Well, and this is a reasonable use to me... you can feel free to disagree... If for some reason I felt the need to become a 'public person'... say a Game Designer... I have the misfortune of having posted for a decently long time as an individual.

Call me crazy, but I think if you are posting as the public face of a business you have a need to be professional and... well... professional.  So, I might want a username for business purposes and one for posting as a person, goofy and occasionally over the top.

I can see that some people, who it should be noted have distinctly less grasp of what 'professional' means have used 'sockpuppet' accounts to attempt to make their stuff look more popular than it is.  However, I see no reason for someone to judge a product based on some post I made about atheism in another thread years prior, a risk when using the same account for business and personal uses.

Maybe I'm just the weirdo who compartmentalizes my life excessively.

Thanks for your permission to disagree. ;)

I don't see how having two usernames could possibly save you from people making such judgements - unless you make a genuine effort to distance your professional identity from your own identity.

Which would seem a less than professional thing to do.
