This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

How to delete account?

Hello all,
I only just joined and I don't mean to leave right away, but I have this habit that whenever I register on a website or whatever, that I check how I can delete or terminate the account I just created. How does account deletion work on TheRpgSite.com? I can't seem to find an option for it in my account settings page...
Thanks.

Hmm... 23 views and no replies. Does this mean I'm a member for life? How about beyond this life? I'd just like to know, you know. I mean, if that's the way it is, so be it, then I can stop looking for an "out".

I'm not an admin here, but it looks like you can't.
If you absolutely must have your account deleted, I guess you could PM an admin. There will be an admin tool to delete accounts.

Other than that, you just have to live the rest of your life knowing you're registered here. Your soul eternally owned by the RPGsite..   Muhahaha!

I understand that. I was just hoping there'd be an option under my own control, but it looks like not. I know I can PM an admin, but what if he doesn't want to do it? Or what if he bans me for being such a nuisance with these questions about account deletion? Some might say, "Well you wanted out, right?" but being banned isn't the same as being deleted. In fact it's kinda the opposite. Once you're banned, your account will definitely have to remain, it's just flagged as banned. Or what if the admin agrees to delete me but I change my mind right when he's about to hit "delete" on his admin tool? What if at that final moment I can't reach him to stay my execution?

Now that's ominous. Unless we can know for sure that the Admin is truly Good and will always remain so, in which case it's fine. But if we can't be sure about his Goodness, then I think we have reason to worry.

You should probably fret over it for all eternity.
Seems like the only sensible solution.

Yeah, but I don't want to fret about it. I want to be at peace. That's the whole reason I'm asking.

What I mean is, I just want that account-deletion option to be there in case I need it. I don't intend to leave right now. Just want to know that I can, you know what I mean?

Thanks anyway.

I know what you mean.
But I don't think you'll ever find peace with this.
You're doomed to never know for sure if you can delete your account directly or indirectly.
