This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Specifically could some Mod or Administrator type re-title Spike's "Miss America" thread and make it "Miss USA " instead - please?


 The topic and conversation don't bother me one way or the other - the fact that they are complaining about the wrong contest is mildly annoying.

 I figure if you're going to bitch and complain about something - at least let it be the correct thing.

YES.

 They are two different 'targets'.

If you're complain about someone or something - it should be the correct someone or something..

 How would you feel if you heard someone was badmouthing and accusing you of all sorts of stuff for a week or more to hundreds of people - then when told they had been referring to the wrong person the whole time they said: "So what, they're both named David" or "So what they're both male".

The two contests actually have significant differences from each other these days.

You realise the thread is really about gay marraige right? That the contest is a passing note introducing the subject of the rant?

Yes,
 But even in knowing that I think the context and what started the conversation should be right thing and not the wrong thing.

 Not totally related: I'm all in favor of 'Gay Marriage' , I just think the campaigning for it and such is being done awkwardly and pretty badly at times.
We can no longer really talk about political topics on here. If anything the original 'contoversy' connected to Ms. Prejean and the Miss USA contest was about free speech. It is interesting in 20/20 hindsight that Ms Prejean was more forgiving of her attackers than they were of her.
