Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I'm trying to add a member to my ignore list but it says they're not in the member list. I've cut and pasted their name from their profile. Is there something wrong with the system and/or am I just missing the obvious?

jrients

Hmmm.  I'm not sure what's wrong.  Try finding a post by the user and opening their public profile from the little menu linked to their name.  On the profile blue bar under the user name should include "Add to Ignore List".

So you can't see what I'm typing here, then? :D

Mr. Analytical

It's not me again is it?  I thought I was being polite... I certainly haven't told anyone to fuck off recently.

jrients

I'm pretty sure it's not you.  Things got overheated in the 'Where were you when they swinified our game" thread.  I was one of the people being a bit of a jerk, that's why I joked it was me.

It wsn't either of you. :)

It was Erik Boille. While all sorts of people were being buttheads (including myself) his were the only posts that consistently failed to include any content. When he posted in all caps with some random BS that I didn't even bother to completely read I figured it would be easier to read around him if he wasn't there.

Balbinus

Erik was a bit odd in that thread, most people mixed insults with actual points, he was the only one I saw who basically just threw insults without making any points one could agree or disagree with.

I see a world of difference between "Balbinus you fucktard, Megatraveller has all the good stuff of classic and has some actual task resolution rules too, only a leprous baboon sucker like you would prefer classic" and "Balbinus suxxors".

Insults are all very well, but one has to include some actual content.

James McMurray

Yep. It does no good to insult someone else's intelligence if you're incaable of demonstrating any of your own.

Andy K

It looks like it's a problem typing in anyone's name that has a space in it ("Andy K" etc).  I just tried Ignore-Listing a few folks, and only ones without spaces worked.

But Jeff's fix did the trick, thanks!
