I support Brett's move, and ask that you all trust him (and me) on that. If you want to start up a new thread about gun control, no one will stop you.

I want to thank Brett and Pundit for their help in this matter. Although under no official compulsion to do so, they accommodated a request I made on the advice of the police to remove the thread from public. Since it was an ongoing investigation, and now a criminal case, they and myself cannot comment on the details. So, before cries of fascist oppression fire up, you should know that what they did was an exception and well within what Pundit has always outlined as the operating parameters of the site;i.e. freedom of speech as far as the safety of the members.
