SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I want to post a link to free PDFs

In the fave free RPG thread, Pundit warned for people to only link to "truly free" RPGs to avoid accusations of piracy from off-site.

I wanted to post a link to Rob Boyle's blog.  On it, he posts free PDF files of his Eclipse Phase works.  It is not a file-sharing site, and the links to the PDFs go straight to them instead of any shady Torrent locations.  They are Creative Commons and the publisher encourages people to share them, but they're still sold for money on Drive-Thru RPG (as PDFs) and on Amazon (as physical books).  Would they count as "truly free" RPGs if they're sold?

I don't think that the Posthuman Studio guys would mind, but they don't set policy for The RPG Site.  I don't want to get banned, so I wish to double-check here before posting the link.

Sorry for the delay. You'll have to wait for Pundit to have the final say.

I thought I'd answered this on that thread already? In any case, if the owner of the IP (the author, usually) is the one who's expressly posted the material and explicitly encourages it being shared, then there's no problem.

And now the thread has disappeared.  What's up with that?

Looks like poseidon-anubis got kicked, I'm guessing as a re-reg. Come on guys you can't just delete whole threads like that, there were some good posts despite the OP.
