Some vandal has went and added links to all the other Nothingland inspired forums at the bottom of my page.  Man that just burns me up, especially since I don't know how to remove them. I also wonder, did she remember to list them all? (Nuttest ommitted intentionally - it's a list of 'children' of nothingland - not 'senseless mockeries and celebrations of the death of nothingland')

It originally branched off of Eric Noah's 3E News Boards back in the day before they became ENWorld, so I guess it is more of a second cousin of Nothingland than a child of it, but I figured that might be close enough.

No offense meant null but the boards listed are ones that either sprung up because of or were offered as refugees for NTLers when NTL was going down.  And a connection to ENWorld is not necessarily a good thing here.

Eh, they're mostly Nutkinlanders.  Uppity Nutkinlanders that stomped off in a huff, but Nutkinlanders nonetheless.  :)

Also, while you have no way of going back and checking those threads now, the Rat's Nest link was listed as a place for NTLers to go to. . . :p

Lets not get into trying to predict the future.  Some of the threads on NTL discussing which ones would last and which ones were better got rather nasty.

What's most important is that everyone find a place that matches their interests and fits their style.

What's cool for me doesn't have to be for you and vice versa.  As long as everyone finds a place or two to call home, that's great.  To the extent that having a lot of choices makes that easier, I can't see how choices are bad (as long as they're original ;) ).

I don't think so my friend. Those forums which are different and provide something unique for their users will be around for the longterm.

Plus after some of the shit that went down in A&C at NTL as it went down I would like to avoid stuff like that here.  It seems that TheRPGSite could be somewhat neutral ground as its not trying to be another NTL or NKL or even a tribute to either it is its own thing.

A rafter goblin from Dubuque (by way of Albuquerque) told me that the launch date of this forum was an unfortunate coincidence and was not meant to coincide with the end of a certain forum about Nothing.  So the lack of tie-in to that land of Nothing is not surprising.  :)
