This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: CavScout;264544You would be correct if this was about "behavior" and not about "political leanings". If I were acting like Jackalope and attacking with vile all those consevative leaning posters, this thread would not exsist.

You are correct, you are being smeared for your political beliefs and not due to behavior.
"Meh."

Quote from: jeff37923;264547Why are you trying to confuse this issue? Is it because you dislike CavScout's politics? Is that why you are busy insinuating that he has a history of trolling?

How am I confusing the issue ? I stated that I didn't think he should be banned. I told Jackalope to ignore him. Are you trying to start something up because the two of you share the same political beliefs ?

I'm not in favor of banning anyone, but, as I've stated before, if you took away the attraction of this place for CavScout, he'd be gone in a flash.  The attraction here plainly has nothing to do with RPGs.  He's our new Dominus Nox, and he's more of a "disruption" to this site than any story-gamer ever was.

You are incorrect.  He's being lambasted almost totally on how he behaves.  If you, or anyone else happens to share his political beliefs, why aren't you being "smeared"?  It's because you're not being a troll with every post you make.

I can't even give you an "A" for effort on this one. Try again.

If I am incorrect, then why are the loudest advocates for CavScout's banning the ones whose political beliefs are the most opposite of his?
"Meh."

Quote from: jeff37923;264548Yeah, you're just trying to obfuscate the issue here.

I said he was banned. It may have been a temp ban. If I am wrong about this, I would like to know. Unlike your buddy, I concede when I have made a mistake. I don't lie and evade questions.

Holy crap.  Now you're using his tactics.  How about because the people whose political beliefs run opposite of his are the ones he trolls most vigorously?

If true, then we would be seeing examples in the rpg section of this site. I am sure that if I had, like David R did, interjected politics in RPG threads they would be in example here.

This is all about the off-topic/politics forum. Nothing else. A group here wants to make it like the other site, a place for a particular view only.

Ah...so jeff's little hissy fit, is about the comment I made in the rpg section a couple of days ago. If anyone is interested I think it was in the thread where Pseudoephedrine and Stormbringer brawl....I don't really know why they brawled. Someone called me out on bringing OT stuff to the rpg section. I admitted the fault was mine . *shrug*

Edit: Here's the post in question:

Would you agree that if I had done something similar it would be used as evidence, in this thread, for my removal?

Only if the Pundit gave you a topic ban.

Does it matter to point out the flawed logic here? If only "topic bans" would lead to threads on removing someone, this thread wouldn't exists at all.

Odd that you can't simply admit that if I had interjected politics into rpg threads that it would prosecution evidence #1A, in this thread, is ridiculous.

I think you're right, it would. There are always arguments here, it's the natural order of things. Most folk manage that without constantly wanting to strangle each other - so perhaps it's posting style, more than what is being said. Reap what you sow and all that. The trick, as a grown up, in a lightly moderated forum, is to fire and forget.

Of course, this site doesn't give a shit about posting style - it gives a shit about causing disruption to the smooth running of the site. So your posting style doesn't matter. However, it shouldn't be a surprise if your style rubs folk up the wrong way, even if it doesn't matter a fig in the running of the site and thus moderation.

So, yes, i agree that it probably would have been mentioned in this thread. It's the reason why i laid out what Pundit has said before about what is considered disruptive. Hopefully that stopped some of the protagonists frantically searching the forums for examples to use against each other. That's RPGnet behaviour.

As i also said, in the past Pundit has only taken action against folk that have been consistent in their disruption and ignored warnings about that disruption. So basically, a single incident is normally pretty meaningless.
