SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

1.)Will post counts reset? (On the one hand I hope the answer is yes, on the other no. Either way I don't really care.)

2.)When do we expect this transition to take place?

3.)What kind of upgrades can we expect?

Thanks.

1. Probably not, although they may change a bit.
2. Within the next few weeks.
3. Same forum software, only a newer version, different appearance, and easier to post news and reviews. Overall, it should be a streamlined experience compared to the current system.

Cool.

Streamlined, and a nicer, cleanner layout is welcome news.

Also, the new board's visual theme is "Pink Tie".

I especially appreciate it if it gets easier to enter reviews. I know my HTML (what I don't assume of every user), and I still had reason to curse the last time I've used it until it looked like how I originally imagined it.
Is there hope that articles/reviews/news might be formatted with BBCode instead of HTML?

When I write "TDE", I mean "The Dark Eye". Wanna know more? Way more?

brettmb2

Yes. Reviews and news will use regular BBCode just like any other post.

By the time the new boards come up, our personalities and opinions will be so entrenched that we don't actually need to say anything anymore.  We'll simply reply with our avatars.  John Morrow will quote his opponent's avatar several times, following each quote with at least one of his avatars, often several.
"The difference between being fascinated with RPGs and being fascinated with the RPG industry is akin to the difference between being fascinated with sex and being fascinated with masturbation. Not that there\'s anything wrong with jerking off, but don\'t fool yourself into thinking you\'re getting laid." —Aos

My opinion, like my Avatar, will remain subject to frequent change. ;)
