SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

500 Server Errors

I keep getting 500 errors when replying to threads. The posts go through ok, so it might just be random internet hiccups associated with the move.

I'll reply to this to let you know if I also got it when creating a new thread.

Blackleaf

I've noticed the site is running more slowly since the switch to the new server / forum.  Maybe there's some cacheing that needs to be tweaked?  Or maybe some spiders / spambots that need to be told to piss off? :)

James McMurray

Nope, didn't get the error for a new thread, just replies.

One Horse Town

This is the first time i've been able to get the site for about 4 hours.

Edit: and 500 server errors is coming up.

HinterWelt

I have to ask, who is hosting the server? They need to get on the stick and look into this. Blech! Slow downs are my biggest issue. Pages will hang waiting for a response from the server. It seems worse when I am logged in...mostly.

It's being worked on. Please stop posting unless you have something new to report.

Is anyone still having problems?

It's slow and giving intermittent 500 errors for me too.

Please provide links here when you reach an error. Thank you.

Fast and friendly so far. Which is good, because rpg.net was also having issues, and Enworld wasn't moving fast enough to keep me entertained. :)

rpg.net is running slower then dogshit today.  It's almost unusable.

It's possible that the two incidents are connected.
