This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

since clash broke the ice on this, let's test the waters.  move all 4e threads to one place?  or don't bother?

They're about the most entertaining thing here at the moment.
The past lives on in your front room
The poor still weak the rich still rule
History lives in the books at home
The books at home

Yes. Leave it.

There's enough "thread-based segregation" going on all over gaming message boards these days as it is.

I already said it was a stupid idea and withdrew my suggestion.

Sorry, buddy.  I didn't see that.  I'm a bit of a jerk, of the knee variety. :)

It's not like Pundit will ever do this (and with good reason), so the poll has no point at all.

hey, just curious as to folks' opinion.  ergo the inclusion of the last option, as well.

Too much micro-management.

If we were in a situation where 4E speculation was crowding out all of the other discussion on the forums, then I might suggest that 4E threads should go to a "4E pre-release speculation" forum until 4E is published (at which point it can sink or swim like any other game, but at least the discussions won't be based on WotC teasers, internet rumours and guesswork).

However, even a cursory glance at the topic list in each forum shows that discussion of other games is perfectly alive and well. The majority of active threads in each subforum are non-4E. The majority of active inflammatory threads are about 4E, but then that's only to be expected.

If it gets to a point where I go into the "Role-Playing Games" forum and I have to look carefully to find a non-4E thread, I'd be worried, but it doesn't look like that's gonna happen.
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don't want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It's pretty chill so far.

This has already happened a couple of times when I browse.

So the choice is either :

"Move it!":

OR

  "Leave it ":

...okay then , I've voted now.

Lord, Zach! I wasn't replying to you! I was just stating my current position, so folks would know what I think. I opened the question, yes, but reconsidered it and came to the opposite conclusion in a short time. That's all. :D
