This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I have been terribly lazy in regards to updating this journal. Sorry, guys. Continued from before..

SESSION IV, PART I

After the battle was concluded (and some healing was performed), the heroes explored a door on the other side of the room. After a quick examination, the door was unlocked....revealing what appeared to be a treasure room of some sort. Inside, were four wooden chests.

The chests were carefully examined and then opened, though, of course with the aid of some well-rolled skill checks...

Each of them had a poison needle, which was carefully identified and nullifed. Inside the chests were gold, as well as these unusual obsidian coins.

At this point, the characters are searching the rest of the room....just in case there's a detail they might have missed. Well, they find something. In the room is a nearly-imperceptible energy fluctuation. Horatio identifies it as another one of those Resonance Portals. :hmm:

After this, things get completely stupid. For reasons that escape me, Horatio decides to demonstrate to Simon how the Resonance Portal operates...however, he does so by using Simon as unwilling guinea pig, and transports him against his will. He uses the portal to only transport him a few feet, but our resident Monk is outraged. Simon smacks Horatio around a bit...:duh:

It gets worse. Even though it was only subdual damage, we were using the Paizo Critical Hit Deck, and the card drawn caused Horatio to suffer an ungodly amount of damage, coupled with long-term memory loss. :jaw-dropping:

That's it. It was on, and imurrx's other PC, Kratos was pissed. Pretty soon, Simon and Kratos were getting into a major slapfight, and Simon was getting the worst of it....

Meanwhile, Aurelia had gone outside the room, into the hallway, to do some exploring. Suddenly, she heard a munching noise behind the door of the room where the party previously fought some Orcs and a Troll. She opens the door and sees...

...Grom munching on a sandwich.

Aurelia: "Grom!" :)

Grom and Aurelia are reunited, and return to the rest of the party.

Simon and Kratos are involved in a major argument, and it looks like the fight will continue. Before things got any worse, in walks Grom, the Troll, asking:

Grom: "Why are all these dead bodies in here?"

To be continued....

Edit: I edited this because I misremembered some details.

SESSION IV, PART II

Grom's arrival distracts the party sufficiently enough to keep the fight from escalating, though there is still some heated arguing and muttering while the treasure is collected.

Aurelia is soon restless, and goes outside yet again to explore, while creeping quietly in the shadows. She is accompanied by her riding dog, Sophocles. She peers down the corridor, and it is then she sees the silhouette of an enormous serpent with the head of a man...

At first, this reptilian thing does not appear to notice them, but then Sophocles's hackles begin to rise, and he begins to growl...

Aurelia: "Sophocles, be quiet...!" (whispers fiercely)
Sophocles: "Grrrr.."

The serpent thing is startled, stopping in its tracks. It is a Naga, though Aurelia is not yet aware of it.

Sophocles is agitated, but Aurelia tries to make the best of a difficult situation...

Aurelia: "Hello."
Naga: "Greetingsss, little one. Who are you..?" :hmm:

A conversation soon begins, but it's short-lived, as Sophocles becomes increasingly agitated, and charges madly at the Naga, which immediately turns and flees with alarming speed.

The rest of the party heard voices outside of the room, and finally had the presence of mind to investigate. They managed to witness Sophocles in full pursuit of the Naga, barking and growling furiously.

To be continued...
