This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Hello, I'm new to designing TTRPGs and currently working on a game/setting inspired by They Live (Movie-1987) and similar media. I wanted to know if there is any interest in such a game, or if one like it exists and I missed it. By like it, I mean it checks the boxes of a subgenre I call Tinfoil Punk: dystopian theme, pulpy characteristics, conspiracy/secrecy as a narrative, 80s vibe and tech. They Live best checks all these boxes, but there are others that fit the bill.

I guess it's nothing new, trying to use movies/books as mythology and extract ideas from them.
For example:
Glossary is a mix of Newspeak (1984), Nadsat (A Clockwork Orange), and conspiracy theorist colloquial terms.
Magical items/weapons/consumables can be sunglasses (They Live), Auto-9 Handgun (RoboCop), Ephemerol (Scanners).
Monsters/enemies: fascinators (They Live), Pods (Invasion of the Body Snatchers), androids (Stepford Wives).
And so on.
