This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Embarking on a new D&D type scenario.  I'm blogging about my process if anyone cares to follow along.  This is the start: https://vengersatanis.blogspot.com/2020/06/something-to-do.html

I posted part 2 earlier today.  Basically, I drew a map.  It's a beginning... inspiration for the final version:

Your adventure Dead God Excavation was good, so a dungeon crawl through a dead Old One is a fun idea. Might be fun for you to rewatch Fantastic Voyage or Inner Space again.

But Venger, DGE did have some issues. I know a couple reviewers went overboard, mostly because they wanted to attack you (and your association with RPGPundit), but even they had some legitimate complaints I hope don't exist in your next project. As for DGE, the cover is badass, the concepts are great, and I still believe if you expanded and tightened it in a 2nd pass, it would become a hot property among OSR adventures.

And more profitable when you do the 5e version. And market it as the 5e version to the 5e crowd.
Same with Purple Islands. Clean it up and rewrite it for 5e. It's awesome stuff and deserves a bigger audience.
And you deserve to make more money from your creativity.

Yeah, Dead God Excavation needs some TLC to get it to where it should be.  This one will help fix that, such as giving it a proper ending.  I hadn't thought of doing a 5e version, but perhaps...

As for the Purple Islands, there's too much content to 5e it.  But I wouldn't mind fixing a few little things that could use improvement.

Thanks,

It would be a big project that deserves its own Kickstarter...with ample marketing into the 5e community.

I'm an OSR guy. Purple is perfect as-is for me. As I've said many times, it's among my top favorite products to come out of the OSR. Tremendously fun to read and add into actual play.

I'm surprised you're selling it for $10 for softcover + PDF. It's an absolute steal at that price.

Pricing gets screwed up a lot on DriveThru, I've found.  Just fixed the Purple Islands price.  Thanks for letting me know, and for the praise!

I haven't used 5e in a few years now, so wouldn't even know where to begin.  But if there was enough money and demand, I'd be happy to partner with a 5e publisher to create a specific 5e book for The Islands of Purple-Haunted Putrescence.
