Hey, thanks Olivier.  I really do need to spend some time poring through the back-issues of Minotaur.  And I might just take you up on that challenge of the character write-ups.  I've always wanted to do something riffing off of Great Zimbabwe.

As far as West Africa/Charybdia goes, if one doesn't mind anachronisms, one could steal from the life history some of the Voodoo deities who are uplifted Yoruban mortals, such as Shango, Ayizan or Loco.
