Title: RPG Design Patterns license updated
Post by: John Kirk on March 04, 2024, 09:56:41 PM
Mike Cantrell, my good friend and the editor of my RPG Design Patterns (http://legendaryquest.com/books/RPG_Design_Patterns_03_04_2024.pdf) book, brought an article to my attention concerning the Creative Commons licenses:

A Bug in Early Creative Commons Licenses Has Enabled a New Breed of Superpredator (https://www.reddit.com/r/law/comments/scog7e/a_bug_in_early_creative_commons_licenses_has/).

The article points out that there are trolls out there exploiting a flaw in older versions of the Creative Commons licenses. Fortunately, more recent versions of the licenses address the problem. Consequently, today I re-released the book under the most recent version of the license. You can download the revised version from my website (http://legendaryquest.com). If you happen to have the book available for download from one of your sites, I'd appreciate it if you would update it to the latest revision so we can avoid any unnecessary encounters with trolls in the future. And, if you happen to have released any of your own content under an older CC license, you might want to consider updating your license to the most recent version as well.
