A couple of weeks ago, while reading countless corebooks and D&D supplements I stumbled upon this seemingly interesting scouting generator. Hex based, it rolled content as hexes were progressively explored. I put it aside for when I'd actually need it.
Now I *actually* need it, and no idea what rules it belonged. I've browsed through a hundred books, from "Aftermath" to "On Downtime and Demesnes", no luck. Any idea what I'm talking about? Suggestions on how to substitute it?

I don't recognize it, but if you find it again, let us know.  Sounds interesting.  The closest thing I'm aware of is strictly for urban areas, a book by Midkemia Press called "Cities" (I believe later republished by Chaosium as "Runequest Cities," though it wasn't specific to Glorantha or Runequest at all.

Drivethru has no idea it exists. If it's just "encounters" it's not exactly what I was looking for, the concept of unfolding the map one random hex at a time was more intriguing, but, well, thinking of it, it's just a matter of attaching a terrain to any result.

That's it.  It is definitely not a "hex generator" type of thing, but it is of great help in designing cities.  And it does provide detailed encounter tables, so if those are of no use to you, you may not want to pay very much for it.  A mini-version of this supplement was Midkemia Press' contribution to the boxed Thieves' World set, modified so as to be specific to Sanctuary.

Come to think of it, didn't Judges Guild publish something like a wilderness hex generator?  I never owned it, but somehow that seems to ring a bell.
