This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Still, 66% (or 75% counting myself) not guessing chaotic is still bad marks.
No, but it is better than your 100% incorrect statement.  By, well, 66%.

Let me guess, you are going to start insinuating 'sockpuppetry' too?  I really wish you would take that cuntweasel tactic somewhere else, especially when it comes up with such predictable regularity every time you spout off and are easily shown to be flat out wrong.  If you can't find your manpants and cowboy up, then just stop posting for a while.  You made some wild accusation that 100% of the people responding guessed the exact opposite of what I was thinking.  You were flat out wrong, but instead of amending that, you try to make it look like I am responding to my own messages with a secondary account.

I mean, if you want to drag your pissy little vendetta around the board to every thread you post in, you may be better served with a forum that caters to prima donna behaviour like that.

For the record, I voted NG on that list by way of elimination. It was clearly either LG or NG, and I decided against LG because I imagined that list would have more traditional, "real-life" job names (as opposed to names of objects). And, well, the list was totally not evocative of anything Chaotic, hence NG.

While Spike is perhaps a bit more vehement about it than I would be, I have to agree with the gist of his opinion: that list is just not evocative of "Chaotic" at all, just the opposite.

Yes, and I admitted that little error. Now, convince me why being only 66% wrong makes you right.

Why would I?

QuoteI really wish you would take that cuntweasel tactic somewhere else,

Because, you know, I've accused you of sockpuppetry where? When? Dates, times, and links please.

Quoteespecially when it comes up with such predictable regularity every time you spout off and are easily shown to be flat out wrong.

Again. Link to posts where I've accused you of sockpuppetry. Of course, to show 'predictable regularity' you really should find several but I'll settle for one.

QuoteYou made some wild accusation that 100% of the people responding guessed the exact opposite of what I was thinking.  You were flat out wrong, but instead of amending that, you try to make it look like I am responding to my own messages with a secondary account.

Two things: I'd rather be off 33%, which I've admitted to, than be off 66% and pretend that I'm somehow right. Again, when exactly have I accused you of sockpuppetry?  Wait, better  yet, when the fuck did I do that in this thread?
Tell you what, find your manpants and cowboy up and grow a pair and realize not every disagreement is an accusation of nefarious wrongdoing.  Hey,  not every post made in your neighborhood is about you, the person.  I know, that will obviously be a stretch for you to grasp until you find those pants, but whatever, man.

I'm doing what again?  What vendetta? I mean, I've called you out elsewhere for empty name calling and general fuckwittery when you and Cavscout get into your hairpulling matches, but I don't see Cavscout around at all.  What other time have I really confronted you? I mean, if you can't grasp that people on this board generally don't carry around personal vendettas and respond to every post by any given poster with the full weight of personal histories, maybe you might be better served by a forum that caters you prima donna behavior, recognizing your specialness and all, like that.

Seriously, you asked for an opinion, I gave one.  You don't like it? Fine.  But your little hissy fit is incredibly amusing, especially given that I barely registered who I was talking to until you went into your little off the wall paranoid rant up there.

It's especially odd, as they have 60+ posts already.

I mistyped in saying that you specifically have done so in the past, rather that you are likely to begin to because you have insinuated it, as I demonstrated above.  And it seems to be an emerging trend that is replacing 'I see your point, but disagree because...' or furiously backpedalling.

No, but manpants would be helpful.

Premium even noted you were overly vehement.  On the other hand, Premium also stated their opinion, and was very polite about it.

You, on the other hand, continue to spout off trying to show how you are 'right' because I was unable to get people to guess where I was going based on limited information.  I would say you are not here for anything like 'discussion', and in fact, if you are posting in a thread that I started on the very topic I named by hurling invectives, then you have made it about me, and not what I was talking about.

That would your harping on the powerful difference between 66% and 100%. I did admit that my number was inflated when you pointed it out.  In simpler terms I say 'you are completely wrong' and you respond 'I'm only mostly wrong, so I'm not really wrong!'.

Quote"Where did I directly say 'sockpuppet'?  I didn't say that exact word anywhere."
QuoteLet me guess, you are going to start insinuating 'sockpuppetry' too

Wow. That was hard. You brought it up, not me.

QuoteIt's especially odd, as they have 60+ posts already.

On a forum with, what? 11? Subforae and 140 posters on at a time (yesterday's high)... yeah, 60 posts isn't much. For all I know 59 of his posts are in the Amber Subforum or the AP subforums, places I don't go.

QuoteI mistyped in saying that you specifically have done so in the past, rather that you are likely to begin to because you have insinuated it, as I demonstrated above.  And it seems to be an emerging trend that is replacing 'I see your point, but disagree because...' or furiously backpedalling.

No, mistyped is saying 'teh candidate'. What you did was make shit up. That's called lying in most places.  Maybe its an honest mistake, but if so, own up to it instead of trying to claim you meant to say something else.  See also my various posts in the various threads around here regarding sockpuppitry (in specific, not threads where accusations come up) where I am on record for, wait for it....

Not giving a damn if people sockpuppet.  I think exactly one person, who I KNOW you know well, and isn't, amazingly enough, named Spike uses that on a regular basis, and against you.  Koltar repeats it sometimes, but then he's like a puddle of water, he follows the tilt of the table.
No, but manpants would be helpful.

QuoteShow where I said I was 'right'.

Oh, yes, I forgot I was talking to Stormbringer. You need to be reminded that not all comments are read in context with you, but literal. You accused me of a specific action, which I rebutted strongly. I can clarify that you are ACTING like you are in the right without having to show you ever SAID 'I'm Right'.
Note I did use the term 'Pretend' in the inital accusation. Pretend does not mean the same thing as claim.  Literal minded enough for you?

May I remind you that my very first post in response to your corrected numbers was an admission that I'd goofed? Yet you kept bringing it up as if it were a vindication of your point. I've never claimed I didn't goof, never hid that I goofed, yet whammo, post after post (its a short thread, so only a couple of times...) you kept harping on my goof. As if it made you right. Not 'I'm right' but 'you're wrong so... draw your own conclusion'.

QuotePremium even noted you were overly vehement.  On the other hand, Premium also stated their opinion, and was very polite about it.

Post number two of the Honesty thread. I'm the Joker, bitch. I'm not here to be polite, I'm here to be entertained and piss everyone off by pointing out the futility of claiming meaningfullness on the internet.  I'm not Premium. I'm not Koltar, and I'm not particularly 'Nice', nor 'Polite'. Jenny Arcane has ignored me despite my giving her 'Vibes' about the job interview and helping with her Dark Heresy campaign the day before, because I'm an asshole.

I swear, there is no excuse to be ignorant of my opinion. I have it in my sig, my title, I post long screeds and mock everyone and everything everywhere I go.  I take your politeness and tie it into a ballon doggie and hand it back to you.

QuoteYou, on the other hand, continue to spout off trying to show how you are 'right' because I was unable to get people to guess where I was going based on limited information.  I would say you are not here for anything like 'discussion', and in fact, if you are posting in a thread that I started on the very topic I named by hurling invectives, then you have made it about me, and not what I was talking about.

I'll say it again, slower this time.  First, I don't read, or care who posts something before I have to respond, or not to it. If a topic is interesting, I post, otherwise I don't bother. Once a discussion is raised? Sure, I'll start paying attention to specific posters to the limit its necessary to engage them, their style, or beliefs.  Its all anonymous here. You could be, for all I know, Stormbringer's little sister using SB's account rather than getting your own.   I could be your little sister posting using a hacked account from another room while your back was turned.  A year or so ago, Jimbo embarrassed himself horribly by posting negatives about the game group he'd started up, not realizing they read the site.

I am not here to hold your hand and tell you you've failed to evoke what you thought you evoked, I'm here to challenge your assumption that these words are particularly chaotic, nothing else.  I led off with asking you for your rational first for a very specific reason.  Not because i wanted to attack it, but because I couldn't see where you were coming from.  Once you revealed that you didn't have a solid rational that could be rationally challenged

QuoteMore of a loose interpretation of CG than anything else

I had to slap you about the virtual face a few times to get your attention that you were doing more or less the opposite of what you thought you were doing.  Then you got defensive rather than pay attention to the point.  Which is fine, because that might have brought out a better rational, but rather than listen to my point, or expand your point into something better then 'my feelings say'... you chose instead to attack.  Which I won't complain about because it's entertaining, which is why I continue on...

QuoteAnd yet, eschewing any kind of personal history as you are, you bring up matters from an unrelated thread.

Actually, YOU brought up other threads first. If I brought up any shared history it was to refute your point that I was dragging around a petty vendetta.  I don't agree with what I see of your politics, but what the fuck does that have to do with gaming?  I don't agree with MOST peoples politics here, from John Morrow or Wulfgar, to Ian Absentia and Stormbringer. Yup, just about everyone. If I couldn't seperate politics from gaming, I'd have damned little to talk about here.

QuoteYes, of course, you didn't bother to look at the name on the post.  It must be confusing with all the people around here prefacing their posts with {Olde School}.  I can barely keep them straight, myself.

See. Once again you are assuming I know enough, or care enough, about your posting history as a total to recognize you preface them with Olde School... which is really odd since the sum total of our previous interaction that I am aware of is strictly in Off Topic where I tell you to stop getting into embarrassing slap fights with Cavscout. I'm REASONABLY certain that you've never prefaced and Off Topic political post with 'Olde School'.  Who's the Prima Donna now? Yes, I know, total hypocracy after I expect you to keep up with the Internet According to Spike.  What can I say, I'm special.

QuoteAs concerns the hissy fit, I am not the one having the melt down over some percentage of who did or did not follow my line of reasoning.

Er... yes you are. Thus you keep bringing it up despite the mea culpa I gave as soon as you pointed it out.  I hate to say it but, aside from my acerbic posting style the real source of drama in this thread was your accusations to me. I just said you were evoking something other than what you thought you were evoking. A statement I've repeated pretty much since I arrived.  You want to quibble about the details thats fine, I enjoy all the sturm und drang.

Well, for Chaotic Good, specifically, I personally would think of terms evocative of freedom, movement and independence. Maybe stuff like "Outrider", "Free Agent", "Rover" (Ranger would be good, but it's already a class name), "Freelancer" (though it has come to mean "mercenary", which is not really fortunate in this case - maybe "Freesword" or "Freerider"?).

Me personally?

I don't see Chaotic Good as worrying too much about defending the people in abstract.  Personally I think that falls more into neutral and lawful goods. Chaotic good guys, to me, strike me as the sort that really want the people to do for themselves, but will get involved when there is no other choice.  They'd rather focus on the evil they are fighting, which is how they help the people.

I mean, if I may:

A village in the middle of nowhere is under threat of destruction by a rampaging horde of Zombies controlled by some necromancer trying ot make a kingdom of the dead. Two Paladins, unrelated, arrive to deal with the threat.

The Lawful Good Paladin is the guy who stands at the village gate, plants his feet and cries out 'You Shall Not Pass!', giving his life to defend the village.

The Chaotic Good Paladin tells the villagers to grab torches and pitchforks, see to their families and rides out into the night to find the necromancer and put him down, trusting the villagers to survive until he does.

But that could just be me.
