This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Hey, guys. I just posted a thread in the news and adverts section for the playtest for our new game.

http://www.therpgsite.com/showthread.php?t=23616

It's an OSR game designed to be run in a single evening, from character creation to completion. It also has core rules which are robust enough to handle full campaign play. The docs are up for download, and we would love some feedback.

If any of you have some time to take a look and let me know what you think, I would greatly appreciate it. I am happy to answer any questions here.

Thanks in advance!

Just posted an update to the news announcement. Our first update is available, including lots of new Character Playbooks for the nobility.

It seems like S&W meets Apocalypse World.  I would like to try it out -- the play books offer enough options that would obviously come up with interesting characters.  They are like books of random tables, in that way.

Yeah, that's not an un-apt description. The core rules do allow for traditional character creation, but we have found that a lot of people like using the Character Playbooks.

Do try it if you have the time. We'd love to hear from you.

We have released an update containing rules for elves, dwarves, and halflings, including playbooks for each. You can download at the usual link:

In other news, we have gotten some neat results with a new goblin Scenario Pack which includes a different take on a random dungeon generator, made specifically for a short, one session dungeon. Hopefully we can show you guys some of that some time not too long from now. Additionally, we are commissioning some more art and working on cleaning up the text, including some changes from the playtest, and doing sample layout so we can put up something more official looking.

Still interested in feedback as always. Let us know what you think.

We are deep in the midst of layout and have gotten a great deal of art in for the first actual version of the game, which we certainly hope to remain free. Take a look at tell us what you think:

We are close to release and have layout samples up for critique and love. One is a chapter from the core rulebook, the other a sample playbook fully laid-out and much easier to read than the messy documents up for download.

Check them out in the usual place:

We are getting pretty close now. Soon I will post a summary of the changes and new things about the actual version, then pdfs and (hopefully) some sort of small print version will be available. Download what you want there while it's still up, as it will probably go away some time in the next couple months.
