Damn, did you have to release it _after_ I've submitted the German review? Actually, the total lack of civilian careers disappointed me a bit as an old Jagged Alliance fan, and I had noted it.
Now I need to delete this part and rate the game a notch better. I hope you feel guilty for it

My graphical guestbook and my German gaming blog Adventure now!

When I write "TDE", I mean "The Dark Eye". Wanna know more? Way more?

There's a formatting mistake: The non-medical colleges are all on page 1, where also the cover image is, and as the cover image is set into the foreground, you can't see the text without marking it.

Ha! Gotcha! Our fiendish plan worked!

Actually, we were made mindful of the lack of civvie career options in the final bits of playtest feedback, and rather than delay the release, we decided to offer Civvies as a free supplement. For some reason, some folks LIKE the idea of playing helpless civilians!

Whup! Thanks for noticing that! I had just now noticed that there was no Nusring School - required for being a Nurse - even though I remembered writing one up! So THAT's where it went!

That was stupid!

I will fix!

I thought more along the line of former assassins, terrorists, bodyguards, SWAT cops and similar non-military careers that still give access to useful stuff for the butt-kicking part. Jagged Alliance sported a few of these sort to bring in some variety, and that seemed to me to be a reasonable background for a merc, at least on the SpecOps scale that the game focused on.

What intrigues me especially about Civvies, and what I haven't thought of before is the use of civilians from the area of conflict, who get involved into the mission or into the personal life of the PCs.
Now _that_ offers some interesting possibilities for troupe play and complications...

Yeah, both those types - non-military butt-kickers and locals both came up in Playtest discussion, along with technicians, medicos, and specialists. Civvies tries to cover all those bases.

PS: I can't access the site from home, so I'll put the fixed file up tomorrow.

Good news.
The updated German review that takes "Civvies" into account is now also submitted.

Any other traps you have ready to spring and that I should be aware of, before I start to translate tonight?

If you were aware of them, they wouldn't be very effective traps, now would they?

We'll be publishing other supplements, but this one was the most important as it filled a hole in the core rules. The others will be properly supplemental, like "Mo' Armor" and "Even Mo' Planes" and maybe some campaigns.
